So… Just like a trip to the dentist can help you prevent a cavity* before it turns really nasty and gross, staying in tune with what’s going on for you mentally can stop the smaller stuff becoming the bigger stuff that feels too huge to handle.

Okay, so what’s a Mental Health Check?

It’s a regular mental health check up with a qualified, experience counsellor, to help you tune into what’s happening for you. 

It’s brilliant for you if:

  • the stress is building inside but you’re not sure why it’s so bad.

  • you’re struggling to sleep.

  • you’re anxious but can’t really put your finger on why.

  • getting on top of things is a goal for you but it’s not happening.

  • You’re snapping, bickering, and rowing for unknown reasons.

  • You’re low on energy.

  • You just don’t feel ‘good’ but don’t truly know why.

  • You know you should talk to someone but feel ‘ashamed’

It’s designed to help you:

  • Work through any ‘wrong’ feelings

  • Feel more accepting of yourself

  • Build self-esteem and confidence

  • Stop burn-out from taking hold

  • Help you feel heard and seen

  • Navigate your thoughts

  • Reduce snapping, bickering and other irksome relationship problems

  • Work through your emotional and mental load before it gets too heavy to hold

I’ve done my time in therapy, and it helped a lot. But I don’t feel like I need to be there every week anymore. I like to check-in for a Mental Health Check once in a while though, just to ‘take the pulse’ of my mental health and check that I’m doing as well as I think I am. It’s peace of mind, like a safety net. It stops the blues from creeping up on me and wreaking havoc before I know what’s what.
 

How does a Mental Health Check work?

I’m a big fan of keeping things simple so here it is in 3 easy steps. 

ONE

You fill in a short form, to give us an idea of what’s bothering you.

TWO

We’ll meet for 60 minutes, talk about the things that are making you feel particularly crap. Then we’ll come up with practical strategies and coping techniques to help you feel better than you do right now, especially when a future problem could rear its head

THREE

I’ll check in with you in the following week for a half hour chat, to see how you’re feeling, and make sure you’ve got all the support you need.  

How much does a 1:1 Counselling Mental Health Check cost?

 A Mental Health Check is £150. It lasts an hour and a half altogether
